About the role

What you need to know:

AIG Underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Marine, Accident & Health and Multinational Clients. We are reimagining how we help customers to manage risk, transforming our operating model and reshaping our role responsibilities and career pathways. Based in our Rotterdam office located in the Rivium in Capelle aan den IJssel, you will be part of our team of experienced and enthusiastic Property professionals. Responsible for handling new business and reviewing and renewing existing books of business, underwriters are fundamental in generating revenue for AIG. Underwriters are tasked with determining the risk of an insured, whether an individual, or company, and appropriately calculating the premium for the requested coverage.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Writing new profitable domestic and international business.
• Renewing and handling existing accounts.
• Booking and follow up of premiums and adjustments.
• Internal and external negotiations.
• Support presentations to brokers and/or clients.
• Policy wording knowledge.
• Rate adequacy, line size management, engineering quality and planning.
• Administration.
• Compliance. 

Profile

• 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry of which at least 3+ in Property.
• Good communication skills.
• Fluent Dutch and English, written and spoken.
• Time management – ability to manage & prioritize workload and diary management.
• Ability to contribute effectively within a team environment.
• Stress resistant: able to work in a "busy" environment.
• Courtesy, empathy and a helpful attitude when dealing with external and internal clients.
• Team player.
• Analytical.
• Fast learner.
• Negotiation skills.
• Presentation skills.
• Networking abilities. 

Offer
